Queensland is renowned for its friendly communities and great weather, making it ideal for those who love the outdoor life, sun, sand and surf, and exploring the great outdoors.
Queensland’s Sunshine Coast Region (population 312,908) is a coastal region located in the south east corner of Queensland, 2 hours north of the State’s capital, Brisbane. The Sunshine Coast is bordered by the Pacific Ocean in the east, and extends to the local government boundaries beyond the Blackall Range to the west. The towns of Gympie, (30 minutes’ drive north of Noosa Heads), and Caboolture (30 mins drive south of Caloundra), have been included in a broader definition of the Sunshine Coast region.
Queensland Tourism’s quote – “Queensland – Beautiful one day, perfect the next” is a perfect description of the Sunshine Coast Region. With an average of about seven hours of sunshine each day, the Sunshine Coast truly lives up to its name. With an average of 300 days of sunshine each year, Sunshine Coast residents enjoy warm summer months and more winter sunshine than most other regions of Australian.
The daytime beach temperature in July averages around 20°C, and in January, the temperatures average around 28°C, with occasional days in the low 30s. Warmer days are usually tempered by cool sea breezes.
Beaches at Noosa, Coolum, Mooloolaba, and Caloundra provide the perfect summer family getaway with sun, surf, sand and everything else to guarantee a great time.
